Twelve Miles West

A new TV Series inspired by ridiculous real-life events

A few years before Y2K, a nerdy Black high schooler is provoked into running for Mayor against his corrupt principal, and life in their idyllic liberal NYC suburb is turned upside down.

As a teenager, I sued my high school over a major First Amendment issue. And I won.

Fast forward a million years, and I’ve created a television series inspired by that incredibly weird experience. Twelve Miles West is a story about coming of age, about what it’s like to grow up just outside the center of the universe, and about how not all skinfolk are kinfolk.
