the challenge
Bring consumers back to Kodak Gallery. Create something that brought excitement and fun to photo archival.
how?
We created a website allowing consumers to star in their own superhero music video.
The two actors (including our receptionist) wore green masks; we used AfterEffects to track the motion of those masks and stored the data as XML. Flash used this XML content to place a user’s uploaded face in each frame, giving the appearance that the user was the superhero.
All user uploaded images were saved for later playback via send-to-a-friend — and we connected to the Kodak Gallery via XML-RPC to allow users to purchase swag with their superhero’d photo.
key technologies
Flash AS3. PHP. Connectivity to Kodak Gallery via XML over HTTP.
