the challenge

As part of an overall brand realignment, redesign the Clearasil US website to showcase the new brand message (”may cause confidence”) and push product.

why?

We worked with Reckitt-Benckiser to create Clearasil’s new brand identity, May Cause Confidence. The existing clearasil.us could not be easily skinned to connect with this new identity, so a revamp was in order.

how?

Redesigning websites can be a nightmare. When there’s no CMS, migrating content has to be done by hand. Tedious work, yes, but the team was up to the task. After the creatives designed a flexible structure, my team cranked out XHTML and CSS templates. These templates were browser and platform tested; after a few (typical!) IE6 bugs, content was integrated and the new site went live.

key technologies

Front-end constructed with (mostly) standards-compliant XHTML and CSS. Scriptaculous JavaScript animation framework used for eye candy and key navigation elements.
